Hello all,
after visiting this site many times I finally got registered.
I just bought a 1984 StarCraft 160 Super Sport in near mint condition and we'll be making our maiden voyage this upcoming Sunday.
Other than a 1969 Ouachita 12ft. flat bottom my dad bought new this is my first boat, so I'm kinda new to bigger boats.
Any way on this StarCraft at the rear of the boat there are two brackets of some kind that I can't figure out what they are for.
I thought they might be anchor brackets but don't really think that is what they are so for the time being until some of you knowledgeable guys can give me an idea of what they are I'll use them for upright rod holders.

Any help would be appreciated.

That could be, the top part pulls off and then pushes back on. As you can see in the pix the top can be positioned two ways forward facing and facing the rear, the bottom part also comes off and has 3 holes on each side spaced about a 1/2 inches apart so it is adjustable somewhat. They might have something to do with a skiing , the boat has a ski locker in the floor, which at some point will be modified into a rod locker. I also thought they might be some kind of cradle for the Bimini but they wouldn't quite be positioned high enough to hold it down and would also block the access hole for the battery and gas cans.

I'm sure somebody will identify their use before to long but until then I'll just keep scratching my noggin.

I thought the same thing but,
if you notice the thing a ma jig doesn't line up with the thing a ma bob so it couldn't be just a doohickey.
unless the henweigh was installed backwards #-o
