Just bought a 2003 Nisson 4 stroke. Stalls out 4 or 5 times before starting and will not idle when cold. Once I get it warmed up it's great for the rest of the day. I think it has a electric automatic choke called a auto-by-starter. That's what the manual calls it anyway. It is a ceramic electrical part mounted to the carb. When it took it off to look, I can see a small 1/16" x1" metal rod that goes down into the carb that was once attached to this "auto-by-starter. I tried to remove it by hand but it will not budge! Can anyone help me as far as what this "auto-by-starter" does? Am I on the right track? The new part cost $130.00!!!!!!!
