Well, I got out yesterday, very slow day. I did manage one 17.25. The strange thing was that it hit a black crankbait while it was drifting on the surface. Interesting to see that in February. What I didn’t give a second thought to was my last trip (water up 1.5 feet and muddy) I saw a smallie attack my sparkleybait immediately upon touching the surface. Later, that same trip, I saw a smallie chase something in the grass at the edge of the river. I’m not too old to be open minded about what I saw these two trips.
As I stated, this is February. My worst month ever to catch smallies. Now that this is in the books, I’m going to work on a consecutive month streak.
The flood mud ain’t left the ramp yet.
And this is in a 25MPH area. Can’t figure out just why they needed a drive-through?
Feeling pretty good, got 15 from 14"-20.25" since Christmas........
