Plugging up a drain hole - suggestions?

A friend of mine has an older Lowe rig that accepts the plug from the inside (plug hole is tapered slightly), and he uses one of the flip-type plugs. The first time I went fishing with him I was trying to get the plug in from the outside, but learned about the internal access plugs that day, lol. I've never tried, but could possibly install my plug from the inside, if there was more room to get your fingers down there.

I use 2 different types of plugs,1 inside,1 outside.
