Back when I had my old 30hp Evinrude, I read something in a boating magazine somewhere about a fuel treatment called PRI-G. Supposedly the stuff reduces carbon deposits, reduces phase separation of ethanol, and some other stuff we all want in our motors. Anyway, I started using it when mixing the fuel and never had a problem with the motor but those were in the days before ethanol became the norm so I don't know if the lack of motor problems was attributable to the PRI-G or just using unadulterated gas. Has anyone heard of it and have any experience with it? Their website is: https://www.priproducts.com.

I have not heard of it. I have been using Startron and Seafoam with good results.

Never used it but I have never heard anything bad about it. The comments I have heard about it have been positive.
Run a tank without it and see what happens.

I'm no mechanic and if anyone else has something better to say, please feel free to refute me. This is what has worked for me. I've been dealing with the substandard worthless fuel additive that is ethanol (One of the biggest lies our government has foisted upon us.) for a while now. I use Seafoam for carbon elimination, though I've tried PRI-G, the Seafoam is just easier to find. You could also use Yamaha's Ring Free, but it's really expensive.

The thing is, you need something specifically formulated to stabilize ethanol tainted gasoline. Sta-Bil has a formula for that and it is blue instead of the usual red color. It's called Sta-Bil Marine I believe. I found it first at the Bass Pro Shop, but I asked my local O'Reilly Auto to carry it and they got a bunch.

I use both Sta-Bil Marine and Seafoam in my gas now. My carbs and my cylinder walls are happy.

Yeah, I'll probably go with Seafoam. Although PRI-G is touted to reduce problems with ethanol, you just never know. I still use PRI-G in my lawn mower and other tools and have never had a problem with any of them. FWIW, I've always been able to find it at Camping World.
