Inherited this boat, floor was rotten so it has been removed so far. Going to redo most of the wiring and install a fresh bilge pump. The boat had a bunch of dense Styrofoam type material under the floor. I'm wondering what would be best to use for the added floatation or sound deadening which is what I'm assuming this was used for? Also what should I look for in terms of wood to replace the floor? I want to use this boat for fishing and duck hunting, any suggestions for mods would be welcome.
Sorry for the crappy pics my garage is small. The blue foam tucked under the boat is what was under the floor already.
Not pictured is the 1970 evinrude 18hp 2 stroke motor. Motor sat in my basement for quite a few years. Already replaced the recoil spring that broke when I was pulling it over trying to start it. Already bought a carb rebuild kit, just need to find some time at work to do it.
I know this was a long first post, any suggestions would be welcome.
