Removing the aft end of the center strake?

I know on jet outboard jon boats a lot of people remove a couple feet of the aft end of the center strake to clean the water flow up. Would this be of any benefit to a prop boat with trim and a hydraulic jack plate?

Yes, anything that will clean the water up. With less air in it is a plus.
