Screeching noise from fish finder

I was out fishing yesterday and I believe my fish finder was causing a loud high frequency noise. It would come and go. It sounded like nails on a chaulkboard.

I cant pinpoint what it was but it stopped when i turned off my fish finder. I have a Lowrance Hook 7 tripleshot.

Im not very good with fishfinders but this cant be good for fishing! I tried google searching but didnt find much on this. Can anyone hrlp? Thanks.
