Sears Aluminum Jon Boat

Looking for information on my boat. I bout a well used jon boat. It doesn't have an HIN. I did find a serial number on a scratched and faded plate screwed to the transom. The S/N is 18767.

I had an old 12ft sears boat like that many years ago. Your serial# is your HIN atleast that's how my older boats were registered with dnr. What you don't have is a a uscg capacity plate( built before they were required) I ran a 5hp 2 stroke on mine pushed it along pretty good.

Jon boats have flat bottoms and squared off fronts, the pics show a V bottom type and it looks longer than a 12 footer. Looks like it might be a fun resto project

I would grab a tape measure. Looks long for a twelve and no that's not a Jon boat
