I have a 50 horsepower force outboard motor on my boat and im having trouble getting the trottle and shift cables adjusted properly. On my motor it has a linkage on the outside of the motor that goes to the foot of the motor is that where the shift adjustment is made?
thanks

You need to be a little more specific on what the problem you are having is. The linkage you are speaking of is the shifting linkage, as no other action requiring a linkage takes place in the lower end. What issue exactly are you having with it?

When the throttle is engaged it has alot of play in it. THe motor also grinds when engaged into gear. I do have a tach so i do not know what rpm i am running at wide open throttle. I dont know if i am losing power since it is out of adjustment.
