Should I trade my 1436 on a MV1448?

I have a 1436 now... I'm thinking about buying an MV1448

I ride in the intercoastal gulf a lot and the 1436 is a bit small for me if I
bring someone, and I hope the MV will help out with the rougher waters.

A lot of the places I go are really shallow so a 14' deep-V probably won't work for me.

I recently put a new Yamaha F20MSH, 20hp four stroke, on my 1436 (I bought
it thinking I was going to buy the MV1448 soon).

What do you guys think??

First off :WELCOME: Thanks for joining!

I would personally go with wider! You can then distribute your weight even more than the smaller one those allowing you to go shallower.

An MV1448 is a nice boat.

Welcome aboard mate :D

and ya darn tooten I'd do it

The MV1448 is a great boat, I have a 1436 and want soon to get a 1448 [-o<

Thanks...

I guess my other main concern is the ability of the MV to handle rough water better... Will it be that much of a difference?

I know it's not going to cut through like a true V-hull, but will it atleast help a bit? the 1436 really jerks when the flat nose hits a wave/wake!

Not familiar with the MV series, but the mod-v bow on my Lowe rig does help some in our choppy water (wind-blown shallow lake). You'll be going through (more-or-less) the waves instead of trying to ride over them. It also depends on how you have the weight distributed in the boat. But then again, it depends on what you're classifying as "rough water". If it the wind picks up too much I head to the dock
