For anyone else that sleeps in their tin . . . what do you typically use for bedding and mattresses?
Always looking for new ideas.
Also, do you typically tie off at the dock, the shore, or openwater anchoring?

I've done that in a fishing tournament,it was a weekend gig.I used a mattress they use for camping. It'sse foam one's.worked real good for sleeping, not so good for fishing.I also anchored in open water

I have slept in my 12' tin before. It was uncomfortable although I did not use any kind of mattress. I slept on the floor between the the cross member seats. There was not enough room to stretch out all the way. I have also slept in my 12' canoe on several occasions. It is much more comfortable as you can stretch out on the floor all the way and being on the floor makes it very stable. I have been out in freezing weather in my canoe and found that by lying down in it you can keep much warmer by keeping the wind off you. I usually anchor in open water since the places I fish are very swampy and have very little shore to beach on and because of the threat of alligators. I have had alligators bump the boat before.

I've not done it, guess I could stretch out on the elevated deck, but never thought to do. Google "Tentcot", don't know if it would fit in your boat, but I've read they are good for this. A bit pricey but apparently they work pretty good.

I just actually spent the weekend on a local mountain lake here where the shore was too steep to set up camp. Ended up cutting brow branches and laying them on the floor on me jonny, filled in the spaces between the seats. Slept on top on the brows....made for a right comfy sleep.

I have a 1648 with no center seat, so I've got about 4'x8' of floor to roll around on. :p

I have an REI Camp Bed that's self inflating, 3.5" thick, and super comfortable. I use it with a Therm-a-Rest fitted sheet and Tech Blanket in the warmer weather or an Enlightened Equipment down quilt for cooler weather.
I use a Kamp-Rite IPS tent, but most freestanding single person tents will fit on my floor. I have no desire to be molested by mosquitoes during the night or to wake up soaking wet from rain or dew.
