I'm selling a 1989 40 hp Tracker Evinrude. Model # TE40ELCEC. It's in very good condition, and is running well. I've used this motor for the past three years on my 17' Tracker bass boat and have never been disappointed. It starts easily and pushes my boat very well. It has a smooth idle and a very strong pull through the entire rpm range.

It has a factory trim/tilt unit installed (ignore the CMC unit, it is not included in the sale). The tilt and trim works well and moves easily through the full range. I just replaced the water pump impeller and changed out the gear oil. The VRO fuel pump was removed when I purchased the boat from the prior owner. I run the motor with a 50:1 premix and have never had a problem. The original VRO fuel pump (functional) can be included.
The only issues that I am aware of on this motor are that the prop has some dings in it and the lower unit needs to have a pressure/vacuum test performed. When I changed the lower unit gear lube this past year, I discovered some water had gotten in. The lower unit turns quietly and shifts into and out of gear easily.
The motor is a long shaft, which will bolt onto a 20" transom.
I have a set of OMC controls that will be included. These controls don't have the tilt/trim switch on the handle.
I'd be happy to answer any questions about the motor. It's located at my home in Upton Ma, 01568. Stop by and we can take it out for a test run. There's a boat ramp about 1/4 mile away.
