i see everyone is useing steelflexx and was wandering what it does? and can anyone tell me what is 5200?? thanks

steelflex is an epoxiy used on the hulls of airboats to reduce friction/drag while going over matted vegetation. Most here use it as a sealer on riveted hulls, or as a prevantive for leaky rivets. Google: Fasco Epoxies

5200 is a marine adhesive/sealant made by 3M that is traditionally used as a caulk on boats.

Steelflex is an amazing magical substance that makes the birds sing, the sun shine and your boat slide off the trailer like it is on grease! Oh it also does what Brine said. I put it on mine, the link to my boat mod in my signature will show you if you want to see it.

I hope you are working in a heated area, it needs to be warm enough to cure that stuff. We worked under a carport and let it set for an hour, it was a little tacky so we thought, 'lets put it in the sun'. We did and 20 minutes later it was hard as a rock and finished. The guys down there at the company are awesome on the phone, just call if you have any technical questions and they will tell you what you need, I think the guy's name is Jerry who answeres the questions.
