got the lights working !!!! =D> ..thanks to son in law....yay 1 THING DONE !!

went to buy MORE wire clips....can't find'm ?.....few spots i need to secure wires better...plastic ties prolly work but behind wheels NEED ?? a bracket ? or rig something

on closer look i see PLENTY stress cracks..& signs of why they put all the turn buckles..inside @ back of the boat..
not soooooo worried since just lil 20hp going on...guess MARK'M so i'll know if they get worse....

leaf springs shot both sides per s.i.l.and 1 u bolt...other side u bolt replaced ?????????.......
TRAILER DO LIST keeps growing
..................................................... i did stab my 1st FLOUNDER other night.....& saw a lot of stingrays.....

Plastic zip ties work well for securing wires. Use the black ones, white doesn't seem to hold up well in UV.

Flounder gigging IS pretty fun! 8) Biggest flounder I ever caught was a 5 lb 7 oz doormat, I shot him with a crossbow. Crazy thing was, he was only in about 6 inches of water, and I drifted past before I caught sight of it out the corner of my eye, then had to double back. We've also gigged and shot some nice sized trout out here in November, which is about my favorite time of the year for gigging, as the water finally clears up.

took wheels off to get a better look

Wow that is a lot of corrosion! You might look for another trailer or possibly a parts trailer. I have found a few trailers with title issues that can be had for cheap.

ohhhhhh noooo - and start over on lights !!.....just shoot me now !..

....i'm thinkin new hubs and new leaf springs........WHAT ELSE could be wrong with it....???????.....yeah i initially thought worthless.....brother and nephew obviously blind or not too concerned about me.....

.....maybe you're right .......if it stops raining guess i'll crawl back and see ....what else ???...

...does that mean axle prolly shot too ????

trying not to get flustrated :( thought i'd be in WATER BY NOW
budget is dead busted .........hubs and leaf springs nx check MAYBE....if thats it ??.....

At a bare minimum, you're going to need new U-bolts and tie plates, that broken U-bolt does not look road-worthy. Looks like you may also need a set of springs.

While you have the springs and U-bolt removed, check the axle, particularly the area in contact with the springs and U-bolts, as this is where most of them will rust through and fail. There will probably be a good bit of surface rust which need to be knocked off with a hammer. Then use a chipping hammer to hit the area where you see pitting. If the point of the hammer knocks a hole through it, then you definitely need to replace the axle.

IMO, as long as the frame of the trailer is in decent shape, there's no need to replace it, just replace the faulty running gear.

WILL DO - thanks for encouragement and ......specific instructions......APPRECIATE it....

i'll study on that soon as it stops raining !

Once you've inspected the axle, if it's in good enough shape to re-use it, best course of action is to knock all the rust scale off the entire axle, then, treat it with Phosphoric Acid (also called "Ospho") After the ospho treatment, give it a good coat of cold galvanized spray paint. It won't stop the rust, but it will slow it down some.

If you're around salt water, NOTHING will stop rust, not even making it out of stainless steel. The Atlantic Coast between Maine and Florida is THE MOST CORROSIVE environment IN THE WORLD. A little food for thought.
