My build is going along smoothly, until.... I reached under the factory front deck to run wiring for the front nav lights.

I planned on installing a recessed trolling motor pedal tray in the factory deck but I just found a pretty serious brace that would fall directly under where the hole would go. The brace looks to be 4" tall so it would be completely cut in half.

So.... Correct me if I am wrong. As long as I am sure to connect the flange of the pan to the support it should basically take the place of the cut out section of bracing.

I would really like to add the tray. Just not sure if the tray will connect the deck support well enough to hold it up under weight.

Just old, conservative me....I wouldn't consider removing a main support without replacing it with two, one on each side. I think of the house remodels we've done or had done over the years.

Doesn't seem impossible, but I am not doing your job.
