Long story short I got my hands on a 1432 boat. I have scoped this site inside and out and have some great ideas for what I want to do. Low, minimal and light seems to be the trend with the narrow 1432 boats. Following is a list of some things I am going to ask more specifically about later.

1. I have a roll of Kevlar fabric. 20 yards by 5'. Anyone every epoxy applied Kevlar fabric to the exterior of their boat? Photos, recommendations...?

2. There has to be a better solution for pontoon outriggers?? Searched the web and this site and I am not happy with the results. Would love to hear what you think about some ideas I have.

3. Really want someone to describe in detail how stable my 1432 could be. I know, not very but when seated on a mod 1432 what is it like? Flat water can you stand? If a power boat sends waves your way how then?

Will post more specifics soon!

I don't have any experience working with boats yet, but I did come from US ARMY Aviation, where I worked with fabrication and fiberglass repairs. I can't really help on your second and third question, but I have some insight on the first.

Are you simply planning on putting epoxy on the outside of your boat, then rolling the kevlar over it? I'm not sure that's going to work the way you think it will. I don't know how thick your kevlar is, but kevlar is a little little hard to get fiberglass resin to soak into sometimes. If your kevlar isn't completely soaked in resin, any dry spots will fray badly when you begin to sand it. If you plan to coat the outside of your boat in kevlar, I'd suggest soaking your kevlar in resin, then applying it. But, I don't think you're going to get a smooth surface. It'd be tough to apply that much kevlar smoothly on the outside of the boat. Just my two cents. I'm hoping someone here has some real experience with a project like you're doing.

epoxy and fabric will add how much weight? Keep the weight low and the seats and deck low and you should be okay.
