I just my mounted my minn kota foot control 45 pound thrust on my new boat. I have decided to put my depth finder and transducer on the front of the boat. Im trying to figure out a good way to mount the transducer, and a good way to run the transducer cable. Im trying to keep it as hidden as possible , but its hard to run the cable where I can hide it and also let my trolling motor up and down. Im working on building a bracket to secure the transducer to the foot of my trolling motor, so that parts no problem but the cable is stumping me!! Any sugestions would be great!! Thanks !!

they make TM xducer mounts for HB and Low, they are available from most retailers, ever BPS/cabelas have 'em, might be easier than making one unless you just want to. Most people run the ducer wire down the TM shaft and secure it with wire ties every few inches on the shaft to keep the wire out of harms way. I mount the ducer and run it up the shaft, then deploy and stow the TM several times to see how it goes, and then rotate the TM its' full range of motion to make sure all is good as well. It's a trial and error thing, just go slow with it and think about over a cold one. It's not hard, but cutting or damaging the wire hurts.

I think it was on this site...

I saw someone had mounted his T'ducer onto the bottom of his TM motor, then ran the wiring FREELY up the shaft. It was pulled out away from the shaft by a spring arrangement. The loading from the spring kept everything taunt. I hope the poster sees your query and posts his pix again. If I can find it...I'll repost here.

run the cable down the shaft using zip ties every 6" cut the close and wrap with elec tape to cover the sharp edges
leave a small loop around the 2 sections watch where you run the cable down the mount to avoid pinch points

once you reach the deck you can drill a hole and hide the extra cable below deck they have covers that you can use for the holes to clean it up
