I just got my first tin boat a Lowe 1232 after fishing out of a canoe for years. Now trying to outfit the Jon boat i have a question about trolling motors. I'm going to go with a Minnkota but the debate is in size. A 30 lb thrust C2 or a 40lb thrust Endura max. I will mostly be fishing small lakes and stripper pits with 2 people. $200 is about the top end of the budget. Any reccomedations ?

I saw a MK Endura c2 50#'r at WM yesterday for $220, no one ever complained of too much power. Get variable speed, not 5 speeds.

I ordered the Enduramax 45 36". I wanted the variable speed and extended run of the max. I read reviews of the 50 and 55 mounts breaking and besides they were out of my budget. I still have to get a battery and box. The local TSC has Exide group 27 deep cycle for $79. I generally like Exide batteries for replacement batteries but I'm not sure about their deep cycle batteries.

Thanks for everyone's comments as they were what I thought they would be.
