Anyone have any experience with the new digital maximizer feature on trolling motors? Says in ads get 5x run time out of battery. From reviews I have been reading in other forums it does great job.
Was thinking 24v, now may just stay with 12v. I go fishing alot, but most are evenings after work & not on water for long period of times. I like idea of one less battery to buy & maintain.

They are great. I have a 12 volt 55 lb thrust and my battery never gets near low. The part i love the best is howbthere is infinate number of speeds, which makes the operation such smoother.

Old trollers used extra resister windings in the motor to dissipate the current so the motor ran slower while still using full power on the battery. New ones use pulse width modulation with electronics to run the motor at the speed you select. Less speed it pulses less, more speed it pulses longer.
