hey there!! I'm still new to this stuff!! I have a motorguide threeXT trolling motor...it's an older one but works great(sometimes) just when I stay on it a good bit the high bypass comes on and stays on till I take it apart and knock it around a bit! but today I took it apart and just "bypassed the high bypass switch" and it worked fine!! just wondering if this will affect the wiring as far as getting hot or whatever, or if the switch is there for a reason other than flipping it and it goes wide open till it's flipped off?? hopefully It'll be ok not hooked up,tired of taking the foot control apart after every trip :x

My MG's don't have that feature, but from your description, I'd say it is just a convience feature and not a safety one.
