Walleye and Bass spinning reel opinions.

Im sure there are 4 billion threads on this, whats a good spinning reel for Walleye and Bass?

Budget $50 or so.

It'll be mounted to either a Berkley IM6 or St. Croix rod. Something in the M, or MH range about 6'6" long. Figuring on about 20 pound test. Im not a troller, at least for fish. I prefer to cast and retrieve, or bottom bounce.

A few that would be on my list....

Shimano Sedona....if you can find some of the older models, I think you can still pick those up for around 40 bucks or so.(I have two of these)

Pflueger GX-7 Trion, or possibly President if you can find a good deal on one. (bought my dad a Trion for his last birthday...really liked it)

And for the money, I also like the Abu Garcia Cardinals. (I use one of these for my bluegill/crappie rig)

Hmmm,

I have both those Shimano reels now. No Cabela's and BPS wont be here for at least another year. We have a local place called Presley's Outdoors that carries everything fishing/hunting. Ill swing by and see what they have. Otherwise it's Dicks or Gander Mtn. Not a fan of either, and they are clear across town, 20 min. truck. I dont like to cross the river unless I have too. :mrgreen:

Was doing some research into American made reels and came across a couple options. Settled on the Penn Silverado. Unfortunately there is no retailer in my area, however I do have an ebay account and figureed what the heck. Just bought a Penn Silverado SV5000 for $37 with free delivery.

I think that most penn reels are now made in china..
they used to have a plant here in Philadelphia and up in lansdale but they have both closed down
they used to make a great reel but not sure about the newer stuff
