What is a fair price?

A friend of mine recently passed away, and I acquired his 1986 6hp Merc and a 1974 4hp merc. If these motors run good and pump water, what would be a fair price to ask for them? Any help would be appreciated! Also what would be the correct Gas / oil mix ratio for these motors? Like to get them running ..........

I have no idea what a "fair" price might be, but I bought a 2.5 hp '76 Merc for $40.00 at a garage sale. Started on two pulls, too.

I'd suggest you do some extensive Craig's List searches for similar motors.

My area probably 200 to 600 each if they run and look good.

Sorry about your friend. I would agree. 400-600 on the 6hp and 175-250 for the 4hp. This is based on Ontario Canada prices.
