I've recently acquired what I believe to be a pretty clean (aside from the mud wasp nest under the cowl) With low hours 2003 Mercury 8HP outboard. the bad thing is I have no idea if it was fogged/ winterized and I believe it's sat for roughly 7 years. I don't believe there was a fuel tank left hooked up to it but it's possible there may have been fuel in the carb. Slowly pulling the starter rope indicated that nothing seems to be seized. Here is a list of things I intend to do prior to putting it on the boat and running it, please let me know if I'm missing anything big that you would recommend prior to running it. Thanks!
- Take apart and clean carb & replace gaskets/seals
- replace Impeller in water pump -drain and replace lower unit gear case oil -replace what I assume is probably the old style crappy grey fuel line that's Prone to collapse
