Wires hanging

Recently purchased 1990 bass tracker tx17. Have two loose wires hanging from the harness. Tan and Black w/white stripe. Any ideas where they should go?? Thanks

Many wiring harnesses have extra wires for options, sometimes unused if that option is not there. Not sure on your boat, but if everything you have is working properly then they might be extras...

My harness has all kinds of extra wires mainly because my boat doesn't have any gauges. They are labeled on the outboard's wiring diagram (tach, tilt, etc).

If your boat only has a couple of loose wires then you are in good shape. Mine is a complete rats nest. Hope to clean it up when it gets some fresh paint and carpet.

Thanks! Ok this all makes sense. Being they come off the trim/tilt harness I was thinking it was for the trim gauge, which I don’t have. So that would explain it.

Sure ... tell us the OB engine BRAND and then look up their wiring codes ... that'll tell you!
