Some cast aluminum can be welded and will hold. I have welded cast with mig and tig and it held. All I can tell you is do a little research on the internet or bring it to a reliable welding shop it should not cost you that much.

I live in Louisiana, near New Orleans, I don t buy much .100 thick aluminum sheets, but I do buy .125 ,( marine grade 5300 series), a lot and it cost around $130 for a 4 x 8 sheet.

Did this motor have an oil tank on it? If you know the serial number you can go to marinepartsplus.com and look at a break down of the engine. Maybe that will help you.

Is there an oil warning module on this unit,I know you disconnected the oil,but is the module still connected? If there is do you have three wires going to it a black, tan and a purple, if so next time it goes off try unplugging the purple wire. The thermostat is on the side of your motor...

Don t know if you have your aluminum yet, but I was buying some the other day and the sales man told me the price of aluminum is going up by the end of the month.

I really don t have a favorite eating duck, I like just about all of them. Coots and Galnules are not bad tasting either. We made another hunt today , but all we got was a mottle duck and a blue wing teal.............

Made another hunt today..ended up with one motttled duck and one blue wing...so much for the teal being everywhere...we may have seen a total of 30 ducks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
