I'm not surprised by those low readings. The test was done incorrectly. According to the 1996 merc manual for 25 hp 2 cycle max compression is 180 psi. Minimum is 127 psi. Below 120 indicates problems. No more than 15% difference between cylinders. This manual is on boatinfo.no Procedure...

Well, he didn't see it so I told him he didn't stow the anchor properly and sent him out to do that. He repacked the anchor and rode and still didn't notice. So I told him he did it wrong and do it over. He went back out grumbling but came in laughing.

I used rustoleum and let it sit 30 minutes to maybe an hour then base coated. I let the base coat dry 48 hours then light sanding and several clear coats w/ ~ 30 minutes between each.

This is what I used for the swivel base in .010 - but there are angle brackets nearby. 1/4 x 20 bolt. They are going anywhere and easy to remove.
