I paid that for a 15 footer with a trolling motor, and 40 hp evinrude. It was a 1992 boat and motor. Needed some work though, but that is where the fun is. I think I would pay $600-700 for it. Depends on how the inside looks though. -Jacob

Have you tried to grease the grease points on the motor? There should be at least 1 or 2 on the vertical lower unit steering shaft. (Don't know exact name) The motor could be binding. I would try that before going through the trouble of buying a new cable. -Jacob

It is my understanding that since your exhaust is directed out through the propeller the converging ring is there to ensure the exhaust gets funnelled away when you are in neutral or moving in reverse, and prevents exhaust gases from entering the working area of the blades. It also helps...

If possible a model number would be of more help instead of a serial number. If you could find one it might help you out more.

I would watch Craigslist for a motor. Fairly common in the winter. If that doesn't have anything to your liking, I would try a local marine for pre-owned o/b.

My 1992 Mercury 25hp had a 9x13 on a 12' jon and it ran 35 on glass.
