    2006 Polar Kraft 1648 question

Hello all! I found a deal on one of these. My question is does that year have a wood transom or aluminum? Thanks

    Boat seats

I can hopefully help a bit. I'm 230 lbs. Had the Wise version (as in your link) on my last boat. Absolutely terrible. I was going to buy Tempress for it, but scored another boat. It has these: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Wise-Plastic-Folding-Boat-Seat/10913396?findingMethod=rr#Specifications...

    1981 Lowe Big Jon 1452

https://www.iboats.com/Lowe_Boats__Big_Jon__1981/bp/64b116335r1 According to that, you'll be fine. A 20 horse, 4 stroke pull start without power tilt/trim weighs about 120 lbs. A 40 hp 2-stroke w/electric satrt is 210ish. I'd reinforce the transom and throw a 20 on it, then if it sat too low...

    What would you pay?

I'd pay $3000. I'd bring $2500 in one pocket and the other $500 in other pockets and go from there. That is a slick ride.

Love this site! Here is my Lowe 1436

That 25 HP will warp the crap out of your transom over time, open up existing cracks, and create some new ones. I had a '73 lowe 1636 with a 25 hp Johnson, so I learned this from experience. It is cool to blow by an underpowered Lund or two in a hillbilly rig though:). If you keep your boat...

    2-stroke/4-stroke

I may have missed this discussed in this thread, but, talking valves...what type of valves do most 4 stroke boat motors employ? On a 12,000 rpm motorcycle engine with shim-over-bucket or shim-under-bucket valves, neglecting checking/shimming them on a regular basis and missing the valves...

Will this fit on a 20" transom?

    Thanks for the help men.

Will this fit on a 20" transom?

Ok, next annoying question. The reason I'm asking, I intend to buy the hull I want and run the johnny on it until I can find a 40 HP jet. It will not work as in, unsafe? Water inlet too high? Cav plate would be @ 2" above the hull bottom.

Will this fit on a 20" transom?

Boat transom is 16". Cav plate to motor mount point on transom is 18".

I added a splint to the first aid kit and bought another roll of duct tape. Headed north here in a few. :)

Will this fit on a 20" transom?

Hi all! I searched and found good info on this topic, but still a bit fuzzy to me. This is a 1981 25HP Johnson, runs like a banshee with her hair on fire. Measurements: -Cavitation plate to where shaft housing bolts to powerhead is @ 20.5 inches -Cavitation plate is @ 2 - 2.5 inches below...

    Murphy and I go fishing....

Got the pickup back yesterday from the shop. Used the downtime for a waterpump/lower unit fluid change. We're going again tomorrow night. Wish me luck.

    Murphy and I go fishing....

Not sure where to start with this one. My beast of a cousin (6"5", 350ish) and I went night fishing three evenings in a row, really got into 'em, so stayed until @2:00 AM the first two nights.. This left us about an hour a night to sleep. Worth it. The first two nights we really got into the...

Carpet, Aluminum or Bedliner, and why?

https://www.hydroturf.com/ Hydro turf is another option. Searched for/viewed some threads here, I'm going to use it on my upcoming build. Users say it stays cool like carpet. Perfect for my fishing style; I heave a lot of slimy cat/white bass/walleye into the boat; and no hooks to cut out.

Considering a new boat, opinions please

Thanks for the replies! I want at least a 17' hull. That Weldbilt 1752 is right on the money, & their trailers look better and are cheaper than anything Lowe or J. Morris offers. I think I might give them a call. Another thing I like about the WeldBilt is the pedestal seat mount in the...

Considering a new boat, opinions please

Hello all. I own a 1974 Lowe Line 1636, decked included a bow casting deck. It doesn't leak a drop and has been great, but my current 6'5" 320-lb. fishing buddy has made stability a real problem. I've decided to buy a new at least 17' hull, set it up the way I want, and keep it forever. I'm...

    16' Lowe Line

Sorry to beat you to death with questions... How have the flotation pods affected the stability, as in rocking side to side? I have a 1974 version of your boat; a lot of trot lining, & walking back and forth in the boat. Thanks, jarobi
