Hello everyone I am new to this site.

I have a 1432 flat bottom rhyan craft boat I picked up around town for $150 it came with 2 ores, and a old trolling motor which I gave to my buddy for going with me to pick it up. This thing is ultra light. I mean I can man handle it into my truck by myself. the sides are only 15 inches tall and the transom is only 16 inches I believe. I took it out the other day for an hour and a half and there was like an eighth Iinch of water in the far back so I know I will have a leak or two to fix. My main question is motor size. I'm more worried about motor weight than size. i plan on putting a mud motor on it. Im looking at a 11hp long shaft. The complete motor weight would be around 100 pounds. It would only be me a buddy a a a little gear and the motor. No batteries or anything. Would this be ok. The boat seems pretty stable.

Thanks in advance.

I would look into a light motor. 1432 you are looking at what, 450 lbs total max or so??? What type of water are you going to be fishing???

Mostly shallow swamp lands 7 or 8 feet in the deepest. But under 2 feet mostly. It's going to be a duck boat.

You might be fine then. I was thinking you'd be out on the lake. Don't know why I thought that when you did state a mud motor, lol. Push come to shove get some pods welded on the transom.
