I need help fellas. My 1978 6hp evinrude was not peeing water out and therefore not cooling itself. So I disassembled the lower unit and replaced the impeller in the water pump. When I went to reassemble the lower unit I noticed I still had a (flat-black rubber o-ring) that needed to go somewhere and for the life of me I cannot remember where it came from! Did it come from inside the pump housing? Either on top or bottom of the metal pump plate? Could it have been from the top of the drive shaft where the shaft seats back into upper unit? I also removed the propeller, could I have taken it from there? If anyone has ever owned this model and changed the impeller can remember I would be very happy if you could help!
Thanks...Lanny
