For me I wouldn't ask for anything nor expect anything if I was just going fishing. In fact they are almost doing me a favor because until I get my trailer guides on and until I have more practice at the ramp, its a heck of a lot easier with an extra person. Plus I enjoy having someone to talk to. Shoot I usually even buy the snacks and drinks, I gotta have them anyway.

Now if it was a tournament I would think they would throw in half, but if they didn't it wouldn't hurt my feelings. I just want to fish, the cost isn't that much.

There was a country song several years ago about the guy who got the bad news from the doctor. I don't remember the names of the song (A Bull Named Fu Manchu ?) or the singer, but I do remember the line where he resolved to start being the kind of friend that a friend would want to have.

Tim McGraw- Live like you were dying.

This is correct. This is also Disc 1, track 1 on my CD changer.
You see, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 2 1/2 years ago, 5 year survival rate is 6%
BTW, Whenever one of my friends and I go out on my boat I never ask for or expect any $$ from them, in fact I tell them "No thanks' if they offer. Sometimes when we stop for a burger or something on the way home they pick up the check and I don't make much of a fuss about it. Spending the day having fun and talking with a friend is all the payback I need for my expenses.

Another line from that song: "All of a sudden goin' fishin' isn't such an imposition"

Verse 1
He said I was in my early forties, with a lot of life before me
And one moment came that stopped me on a dime
I spent most of the next days, looking at the x-rays
Talking bout' the options and talking bout' sweet times.
I asked him when it sank in, that this might really be the real end
How's it hit 'cha when you get that kind of news?
Man what did ya do?
He said

Chorus
I went skydiving
I went rocky mountain climbing
I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu
And I loved deeper
And I spoke sweeter
And I gave forgiveness I'd been denyin'
And he said some day I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dyin'

Verse 2
He said I was finally the husband, that most the time I wasn't
And I became a friend, a friend would like to have
And all of a sudden goin' fishin, wasn't such an imposition
And I went three times that year I lost my dad
Well I finally read the good book, and I took a good long hard look
At what I'd do if I could do it all again
And then

Chorus
I went skydiving
I went rocky mountain climbing
I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Shu
And I loved deeper
And I spoke sweeter
And I gave forgiveness I'd been denyin'
And he said some day I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dyin'

Bridge
Like tomorrow was the end
And ya got eternity to think about what to do with it
What should you do with it
What can I do with it
What would I do with it

Skydiving
I went rocky mountain climbing
I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu
And man I loved deeper
And I spoke sweeter
And I watched an eagle as it was flyin'
And he said some day I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dyin'
