Second to all the above. I had the same problem but I just used rigid pipe and bent a offset in it and screwed a mounting plate to the trailer frame to hold it in place.
 
I had the same problem when I bought my boat. The ramps I load at are all different grades, so it is not the same at each ramp. I even go to one boat ramp that has two ramps that have different grades. I can not use one of them due to such a shallow grade. When my truck wheels hit the water my trailer guides are still up out of the water. At another ramp there is such a current from the side that it is tough to line up to the trailer when approaching. At 10 feet from the rear of the trailer I have to be about 10 feet off to the side and powering forward trying to hit the trailer square. I mounted 3/4 pipe guide on poles on the side of my trailer and have broken them twice at that ramp. They need to put a dyke or something on the side of the ramp to lessen the impact of the current while loading boats.
