Yeah, it was low clouds with the sun breaking through. At the time I didn't think it was smog, just haze. Could be wrong. It didn't seem "smoggy" when we were on shore.

Here is another random photo from a month or so ago. It was a pretty calm day.

The rod holder location I'm using in this picture is less than ideal. I use that inboard one on the splash well because if I use the flush mount one you see on the gunnel it gets in the way of retrieving and deploying the down rigger. Since this pic I've added 2 more flush mount rod holders to each gunnel. One where the red circle is and another one forward that would be off the picture.
