Do i need to re-install these brackets

I am starting my mod project on my 16' V hull Mirrocraft. I have removed the benches and will be installing a floor and casting deck. Where the benches were I will be using aluminum angle to pull the sides together, except one bench, I am leaving it out to open up the middle.

Do I really need to reinstall these brackets if I'm using angle?

I would think if you are using angle side to side & are attaching it to the sides, you would be ok not reusing the original brackets. I have plans of redoing my deck & using angle as well. If I do, I will remove the other 2 benches (1 already gone) & replace the support they provide with a frame made of the angle.

I had the same issue when I did my mod. I ended up using 3/4" aluminum tubing and carefully smashed the ends with my vise to the correct angles.
