Extending my foot control

hey guys,

I put a small deck on my boat, but the foot control length on the bow mount TM is kinda short now. Is there an easy way to extend these wires? Looks complicated under the pedal? could it be as simple as splicing in a few feet of wire? I'm not very electrically savvy.....

Depends on your trolling motor. If its all electric, then it could be possible. If its cables that turn the head then no.

What's the make and model of your motor???? Mine is a power drive MinnKota and I replaced it with a longer cable without any splicing to maintain the voltage/amps.

good point casey. Indeed it has cables that turn the head. Didn't think about that. I'll have to check on the model as it was a hand-me down from my grandpa. Minn Kota i think about 50#

check with the authorized repair shops in your area - they can get you longer cables most likely
