Well firsts aren't always a good thing.
I knew it even before I got back into my boat after launching....forgot my foot control for the trolling motor. It was blowing pretty good to but I wasn't going home.
Tried some drifting first, then some backtrolling just hopeing for a bite so I could anchor and see if anymore were around.I never arrived till 4pm so didn't have much time to mess around.Would this be my first be my first skunk of the year?
No sir...lucked out and had a bite acouple hours in,threw the anchor and landed 4 smallies and 1 hammer handle pickeral.
Fished from about 4 till 7pm,breezy but warm 55 ish with blue bird skies.
It rained hard the last few days so the water was up so I found the fish in a sunny cove,in about 4-10 foot of water.I threw a red spinnerbait landing 3 and 1 on a wacky rigged senko. Atleast I didn't have to charge the battery when I got home:/.
Heres a few pictures,3 in the 1.5lbs range and the 1 bigger one around 3lbs.10.25.09.JPG10.25.09 (3).JPG10.25.09 (4).JPG10.25.09 (2).JPG

Good deal. I had to fight the wind this weekend as well. I'd like to have a go at the smallmouth one day, but I'd have to drive a ways. In the meantime I'll stick with the green trout.

Sweet.. =D> =D> =D> Nice catching...I love those Smallies...Can't wait till mid November when we start really getting in to the Smallies below Ky dam on the tailwaters....JIGGY

It's always worth a trip, atleast so far I aways seem to make it back.
I used to laugh at the check list idea but maybe I do need it:/
I was only 20 mins away from getting the foot control but maybe next time I'll remember:)...try the punish myself method of remembering.
