Thanks for all the info. I am thinking about the Hotshot prop but it will be in the fall before I purchase one. I will be trying 100 to one after the quicksilver premium plus oil is used up and 2M oil is bought.

My buddy has a 1548 G3 with a 25hp Merc (modded to 30hp) and it does 25mph, and he's a rather large guy...

It is, but not much of a V.

More importantly, its a heavy (welded) boat, and he's a 300+ lb guy. 25hp is plenty for that boat, unless you want to do silly/scary fast...

I have to agree with you about going 25 mph and over. 30 mph is fast on my boat. It gets very twitchy at high speeds. If I'm not careful I can get in trouble. 20 mph is a very comfortable speed.
