after work me and my brother headed out to the river. started off fast with a few small perch, acouple tiny cats (we were targeting the eatin size ) and enough gills to make a preacher cuss. well all in all while realing in a cat my new pole try's to jump out of the boat. i catch the very end of the cork and knew it was a lunker when that drag started screaming. after a few min of fighting it out of a log jam and sunken tree i landed my biggest bass yet. 5.3lb largemouth, and 4 half pounders to follow immediately

i never understood why people only target bass untill yesteday. im hooked on lookin for that lunker now!

just plain ole' nite crawlers in a sort of texas rig w/ no weight. the cats tear um up here, dont catch many bass from them maybe 2 or 3 dinks an outing. i did have another nice'n (or the same one) take off from a live crawdad but got hung up on a sunken tree and snaped the line about 10 min before i caught him.

the bass were hitting top water like crazy. as we trolled to our spot we were chunking spinners but didnt have any luck. next time out im bringing all the artificials untill i find somthing they like
