I got one of the jerky guns for christmas that use ground meat to make jerky. Has anyone else used one much and have any of you made any custom marinades to use with it.
Just looking for some tips to help make some good jerky.
thanks.

Found A Better Jerky Gun A Little While Back, So I Bought It And Passed My First One On The Another Guy At The Church.

I Only Make Deer ( Not Beef ) Jerky, Using NESCO / American Harvest Original Jerky Spice Seasoning. https://www.nesco.com Add One Pack Of Their Seasoning, & One Pack Of Cure (Salt) per Pound Of Ground Vension, And Add One Tablespoon of Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning To Three Pounds Of Vension ( Big Dehydrator ).

Gotta Love It; The Jerky Gun, The Seasoning, THE JERKY ! ! ! 8)

I have a jerky gun and like it alot. Mine has attatchments for round 2 different sizes, and flat 2 different sizes. I myself like the larger flat one best. I do make my own marinade.

For ground Venison I use dry mix, for sliced Venison I use the following marinade...

"Winchester" sauce
tiger sauce - to taste hot or mild
salt
pepper
A-1 sauce
liquid smoke - the more the better
onion powder
garlic powder
and whatever else I can find in the cabinet....

Only problem is, the jerky don't seem to stay in the baggies very long....
