So here is the dilemma. I have the opportunity to buy a 16' bass tracker v hull with a 30 hp mercury that has only seen fresh water for very cheap. Or at least I thing so. The trailer has new tires and the boat floats. The only thing is that it was parked 8 years ago but ran good then. What are the chances that the wiring is still in good shape and the motor runs. Also how much would a boat in this condition normaly go for being built in 2000. If the motor was running and everything worked how much would the boat sell for then. I am debating on whether or not to buy it and turn around and sell it for a little more or put in the time and fix it and then sell it seeing I do not need a boat this size as I already have one. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

 Was it at least covered? Are there any upgrades to the trolling motor and electronics? I would be worried about the cylinder condition on the 30HP motor. The wiring should be OK.

I have a 16' 2000 Bass Tracker(25HP Merc.) which I bought new back then. I have upgraded the trolling motor and electronics. Going price around here in South Jersey would be around 3800-4200 in good condition.

It was under a shed so that's good and it was a trolling motor mount but te trolling motor had been removed and used in a different mount. He is asking $300 for it which I think is beyond cheap. There is a fish finder but that is it.

That sounds like one heck of a buy. Just the boat and trailer, in decent shape, should be worth way more than that.
