i have a older(1998) minn kota 50lb thrust bow mount and would like to know how many amps it draws to get an idea if my battery will hold with my new(in a few days)MK powerdrivev2?

A rough ballpark figure would be an amp per pound thrust....so 50 amp at wide open.
This is for 12 volt trolling motors.

I have a 55lbs transom mount Minn Kota and it's rated at 46 amps. I use a 50 amp circuit breaker and haven't pop it yet.

i have inline fuse, so should i use a 50 amp fuse?

Minn Kota recommends a 50 amp circuit breaker but a fuse will work. Just carry an extra one.

my 30 lb. keept popping a 30 amp fuse if i put it past #3 speed,so i bypassed the fuse altogether.i used to run it directly off the batt. for years with no fuse.
