motor ser#

I have a 35hp johnson and a 4hp evinrude lighttwin and both tags are gone or taken off, is there another place to Id these motor for parts?

The 4hp lightwin is most likely between a 1969-1979 (guessing though?). And the Johnson 35 was only made in certain years. There are usually numbers on the block (welch plug) and on the transom bracket. IF you can give a better description of both motors we can help you more. Or even better, get some pics up of the motors : )

That silver plug you see in the block pic #2 should have either the model, serial, or both, I can't remember. The other motor should have a similar plug

The 35 hp is late 70's or early 80's and my guess would be 78-81. There will be a welch plug right behind the fuel pump (pic #3) on the block just like the one you can see on the lightwin in pic #2 (round silver thing, size of a quarter or so)

Get us those numbers and we can get the exact years real quick for ya

The 4hp Evinrude is a 1969 and the 35hp Johny is a 1979 rope start short shaft
