Need help please

Ok i have a 14ft jon boat here in fl.I have looked up the laws on it.It says for what i have you need life jackets of course,whistle,horn,nav lights at night,i'm getting confused on one thing,

It says you only need flares if you go offshore,but if you stay inshore you don't,does anyone know 100% what the minimum req are for a 14ft jon boat that will stay inshore(meaning i will never go more then a mile to 2 out at the most.Thanks

Google "Florida Boaters Handbook" I think that is where I found the info. I row a 14' jon so I didn't pay attention to the "motorized" rules. All I need are flashlights inshore, although I went beyond those requirments. Plus the safety stuff of course.

Most places you also need one throwable PFD. Fire extingusher for gasoline engine.

Only for boats that have an enclosed gas tank where fumes can build up,plus it's for boats 16'and over,16' and under doesn't need one.That i do know.The pfd is also for 16' and over but i have 2 anyway.

Your local regulations may vary. Here if you have an OB you must have the extinguisher.
