Again, have a 2005 1700 Lund Explorer.

I am trying to figure the livewells. Have one in front (2nd pic) and one in back.
Have just one livewells pump which only fills the back. I saw "holes" (last pic) in the bow which go directly into the livewells front.
The drain for front comes out at bottom
below the boat. The other drains out transom.
How does the front work without a pump?
Please let me know what you think

Some boats have a simple livewell, where you pull the bottom plug and water fills the livewell up to the water level, which usually isn't but 4-5", but it's enough to keep fish alive. Water goes in and out and they work surprisingly well.

Otherwise, it may be a non-powered livewell being used as storage. You can always plumb it and get it working again.

My 93 Tyee 1850 has 2 thru hull holes under each of 2 bow livewells. These passively fill the LV's. There is also a livewell(pulling water) pump in the stern of my boat which pushes water towards the LV's via a hose which "T's" at the LV's and feeds each aerator. Each LV passively drains via 1.5" drain hoses from LV out thru-hull fittings in each console. So filling and draining is passive but aeration is via pulling pump in stern.
