Yesterday I purchased a 1986 Lund Rebel Special to turn into a duck boat. The person before had it for 3 years and left it open to the sun and rain so everything that is not aluminum needs to go. The good news is all the aluminum is in good shape along with the rivets. it has a live well but not sure if it works. I think I may put a console in it. Does anyone have any recommendations or advice before I get started on this one?

Thanks in advance.

The advice that you got on the DHC forum was good. I would say to skip the console if you want to hunt it. An open floor plan works nice to put some seats in for a couple people in to hunt from. You may want to consider a good size tiller motor.
When you go to paint it, use a good acid etching primer. Duplicolor makes a self etching primer that I am currently useing on a 1860 Sea Ark. The primer it self is so close to jon boat green that I probably will not paint over it.
Good luck and most of all, Have fun.
