I'm going to be treating myself to a new rod (pitching) and would like to have some input from the pros so here goes, as of right now its between
shimano Cumara and a Kistler Argon, by the time I pull the trigger those 2 rods will turn into 10, you guys know how that goes.

I wouldn't rule out the St. Croix Legend Tournaments. :) Or if you could find a deal on a Loomis Mossyback, those are sweet rods as well. :) The ones in the 6'6-7' range run just a tad more(typically) over the Cumara's.

I had the St. Croix Legend in my hands, it felt a little heavy to me. I was just on line looking at the American Rodsmith Predator Series, with the adjustable butt handle(adjusts to different lengths) and foregrip section (allows the reel to move up and down on the rod)

I use a 7' H, Daiwa Procyon ($65) right now with a Shimano Curado 200e7... it's freakin heavy though. But I can pitch a 1/4oz spider jig about 20 yards with accuracy.

I also have a 7'2" Gloomis Mossyback MH that I use for flippin/pitching... it's a sweet rod. The only reason it's no longer my pitching stick is because I like to use it for long cast spinnerbait fishing now that I've made myself throw them more. I did put a Skeet Reese Revo on it and can out pitch my other by about 5 yards.

I would look to see if Falcon has any flipping rods too... they are nice rods for the $$.

I'm starting to shy away from Kistler. They kinda screwed me on my rod break that happened earlier this year and they really put a bad taste in my mouth. But besides that, I don't know what they have done in the last 2 years, but their Helium LTA rods have gone down in my opinion. I've got a 2005 LTA and a 2008 LTA... the 2008 model can't touch the older version. The older is more sensitive and has more backbone. Of course the newer split grip handle models could be better.

For a $25 a year membership you will get a 1 year subscription to a magazine they have a few too choose from a buck knife. access to the embers deals and discounts page one of the discounts is the discount on rods. they keep updating the deals as more people come on board.

I went tonight because I heard a store here had the Skeet Reese Tessera Flippin/Pitching rod... Boy oh Boy, I wish I could have justified buying it (they sell them for 79.99, but they are 89.99 everywhere else).

It is a stout rod, and I'm pretty sure you can do swimbaits with it. it's an 8' rod with a strong backbone and fast tip from what I could tell in the store. I'll be back for it....

I was reading up on the flipping/pitching Tessera, thats a little big and too stout for me, I want to stay in the 7'/7'3" range.
