This one might seems strange. I am new to these boards and learning quite a bit. I am considering a 12-14 foot jon boat with an electric trolling motor initially. It would be on a trailer and my question concerns whether or not it would be possible to move the boat and trailer by hand from the driveway(concrete) to the back of the house on flat level grass. As you might imagine the wife does not want it in front of the house and neither do I.

Thanks

shouldnt be a problem. if you pick it up at the tongue i bet theres no more than 50 lbs of lifting and its pretty easy to steer. the axle is doing all the work if the boat is loaded properly.

now traversing slopes would be an issue as you may not be able to control the load once it gets going. but if its level like you say, you will be golden.

Thanks for the quick reply:). No slopes very flat grass and just have to haul it about 40-50 feet....

Shouldn't be a problem. I really recommend a 14 ft boat. I bought a 12 foot because I didn't know how often we would go. Turns out she is always bugging me to go fishing and it didn't take long to start wishing for a little extra room (hence the Basstracker Pro 17 purchase 2 days ago....)

I agree, I would go with 14' for the space and the price tag shouldn't be much higher. If you have the chance, take a buddy with you to the store and sit in the 12 and 14 models before you buy, you'll get a better idea. I ended up with a 16'.

TheMaestro » Yesterday, 08:07[/url]"]I purchased one of these https://www.tscstores.com/600LB-TRAILER-DOLLY-P7361.aspx, on sale and it works really well, just make sure the tires are inflated and they go over grass really easily.

Ditto, get the dolly, it makes it much easier. Harbor Freight has them also and they almost always have a discount coupon. I have to move mine up a steep incline and fully loaded it is getting a little much. I turn 70 next month. One day I may invest in a Harbor Freight electric winch. The dolly and the winch combination worked well for a friend of mine, especially after he got cancer.

 I have a 12 ft v hull with seats in it and some other things ... I move myself back and forth up the driveway over rocks ... and im a woman .. shouldnt be an issue :)
