Only 4 Today

Only managed to get 4 Crappie and 1 White Bass today, but with the wind blowing like it was I thought that was pretty good.

What the fish lacked in quantity, they made up for in quality. 3 were real nice slabs and one of those was a brute!

Nice fish - I do better with them when it is windy - gives the old float and fly better action and I think the crappie like the wind


Are they black or white crappie?

All Black Crappie, we do have White Crappie in this lake but they hang out in deeper water than the Blacks. I was catching these fish in 8-12' of water. Usually have to fish the 20-25' water to get the Whites.

That is one big *** Black Crappie

In our lakes the whites are always the big ones - but we can get some real big black crappies as well.

Same deal - whites are usually deeper
