Ok guys, so I have started my mod and will get some pics up as soon as i can. My question today is should I use the pedestal mounts or not for my seats. It is a 1436 flat bottom boat, I am putting 3/4 ply on top of the seats then I wanted to to attach my seats to a 7inch riser. Just dont know how stable I am going to feel sitting that high off the standard bench seats. I do have a 9.9 motor. I know I could put them on then try it out for myself, just want to hear some of your experiance with using pedestal seats.

Thanks

I have a pedestal seat with 11" pole on my front deck. Deck sits 3 inches on top of mid bench. Does not feel tippy, but then the bottom of my jon measures 45" across. 36" bottom much narrower so it may be too tippy sitting that high. Try it out with a pfd on of course. If you don't like it, then take it down.

I got the same with boat, I am not sure what do do with the rear seat, I am looking at a seat flush on the bench, then when I get to the fishing area pop a 7 / 9 inch post in it, up front my deck is 5/6 inches off the floor, will put a 13 inch in front of the bench.

They are a fixed height and I cant change that, either they're there or not. So for clarification they will always be that high even when flying with the 9.9 opened up.

Thanks guys,

I must have misread, I thought you did not have the post yet.
When i am writing the question it makes perfect sence to me! Its hard to really get exactly what you are saying with words. I will put some pics up tonight when i get home.

I believe I'm using an 11" pedestal on my 1436 right now, and even with a big buddy in the back it isn't bad at all. My deck is even with the top of the front bench, which is what it sounds like you've got going on as well.

I've also got the 24-30" adjustable pedestal, but I'm waiting until I'm out alone to try out that bad boy!
